Dulce de leche ice cream

dulce de leche ice cream

This is one of the most scrumptious ice creams I’ve ever tasted! Seriously. And it’s not toothachingly sweet – believe me.

With this waffer triangle, I think it’s perfect for Fiesta Friday 😉

And to update you guys, I must sadly say that I’ll be wearing a cast for 3 more weeks 😦

DULCE DE LECHE ICE CREAM

INGREDIENTS
375ml milk
400g dulce de leche, divided
125ml double cream or whipping cream
a pinch of salt

METHOD
Heat milk and dulce de leche until it’s completely dissolved, stirring once in a while.
Remove from heat, add cream and salt and leave it in the fridge for at least 4 hours.
Turn on the ice cream maker, pour the mixture into the frozen freezer bowl and let mix until thickened – about 30 minutes.
Transfer mixture to an airtight container and put it in the freezer for at least 2 hours.

  1. LOVE dulce de leche. I’m hosting 2 lovely Mexican girls who would probably LOVE this ice cream. Looks just luscious Erika. And so lovely to see a photo of you! Now I know who I’m conversing with. xox

  2. Oh Erika, sorry to hear that you have to wear the cast for another 3 weeks. I’ll be praying that those 3 weeks fly by for you, but in the meantime enjoy putting your feet up with a mahoosive tub of this delightful ice cream.

Gotta love dulce de leche. I’ll be posting a recipe on how to make homemade dulce le leche soon, from scratch!! I’ll have to make this ice cream with it after because I can’t think of a more perfect use for it.

    • Thank you for your kind words Lisa! I can’t wait to hear how you like this ice cream 🙂 I made dulce the leche from scratch once (the milk and sugar process) but it took so long and using the sweetened condensed milk method just scares me 8|
